A bargello quilt is made of strips of fabric sewn together to create the appearance of movement. The pattern looks complicated, but it is actually a great pattern for beginners. To complete this quilt, you simply have to be able to sew a straight seam. In your Bargello Quilt Class, you will use mostly squares and rectangles to create the appearance of small scraps of fabric. They are placed in a way that they seem to flow and move across the piece. Bargello quilts are strip-pieced, meaning the fabric is cut into long strips that are sewn together in graduated color groups. Afterwards, the strips are cut into rows of squares and rectangles that the quilter stitches together.
